In need of a couple of sweet pick up lines? Well, it’s time to bring out the insulin, gentlemen, and maybe even a double dose for good measure. It’s common knowledge that a lot of girls dig sweet things, though in the light of recent feminist movements over the years, some females have lost touch with their ability to appreciate anything remotely feminine—including sweet pick up lines. Not to say that guys don’t appreciate strong women who go around driving rock and roll motorbikes, but it’s always good to know there’s a soft spot somewhere in all girls.
Sweet pick up lines aren’t all the corny or stupid pick up lines; they can be pick up lines that make a girl feel valuable, such as when a guy asks for her opinion. Pick up lines that make you come on too strong, such as statements that immediately convey strong sexual interest, are what you don’t aim for.
Now, regardless of what kind of pick up lines you’re using, it’s always a good idea to establish social value before going up to a girl and talking to her. Let her see that you are important. Being part of a social circle considerably increases your appeal, and it’s less likely that a girl will blow you off if you come across as socially valuable.
You can achieve this effect by simply talking to other people in the room. Be comfortable with yourself. Engage in animated conversations. Don’t be the recluse brooding in the corner; seriously, a girl isn’t likely to entertain someone who looks like he just walked in to stalk prey.

It’s helpful to establish non-verbal rapport with a girl when you’re about to pull a couple of sweet pick up lines from your pocket. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, or an extremely complicated move-for-move analysis. You can just make eye contact, and smile. If she smiles back, then good for you, it’s time to move in on the kill.
Some sweet pick up lines, which can be great pick up lines, to use on a girl are compliment openers, flirt openers and opinion openers. Compliment openers are delivered best sincerely; remember that girls these days do not always appreciate sweetness for what it is. Lose any sexual innuendo that you might want to inject into your pick up lines, or she’ll peg you as the typical teenage horndog and—needless to say—blow you off.
Examples of compliment openers include “Hi. I really like that dress on you. I was planning to buy my sister a similar one. Do you know where I can get it?” Notice that the compliment incorporates social value in it by mentioning your “sister”, at the same time complimenting her on her dress. On the plus, side, girls will appreciate the thoughtful gesture of buying your sister a dress. Zing!
Other sweet pick up lines to use are those that ask for a girl’s opinion. This usually starts off with a compliment, too. You might say, “Hello. You look like someone with a great sense of style. I just need to ask you where I can get a [insert female clothing item here]? It’s my mom’s birthday next week, and I could really use some advice”.
You could also use flirty compliments and good pick up lines that go straight to the point, like “I’m out of pick up lines at the moment, but if I had a really good one, I’d use it on you”, or “You have a great sense of style” or even cheesy ones like “You look amazing tonight, and I just had to say hello”.
It’s important that you don’t apologize for bothering her, because there’s really nothing to say sorry for. Keep in mind that you are a great guy who is worth her time, and after those sweet pick up lines, she might even decide you’re worth more than that.
