The Truth About Funny Pick Up Lines For Girls

While funny pick up lines are good for a laugh, you’re going to need some more powerful weapons if your goal is to actually charm and seduce a woman. In reality, when it’s time to approach the girl you’ve got your eye on, funny pick up lines won’t be enough. You don’t necessarily need to say something clever or hilarious. it’s not about knowing the best pick up lines. The purpose of the opener should be to catch her attention and allow you to transition into the first topic of conversation.

There are endless openers you can use, but they all basically fall under one of several categories:

Neutral Openers. With these, you’re not conveying any sexual or romantic interest. You make an observation (about something she’s wearing, her overall energy level, etc), or ask her opinion on something, or get her to answer a question.

The key is to make it interesting. This opener should serve as a springboard to the conversation, and it should allow you to display your personality. If you’re going to ask a question, make it a fun question—or even better, turn it into a statement about her.

Basically, you can take any question a guy might normally ask a woman and spin it into a fun way to ask the same question.

Wack opener: So have you been here before?
Mack opener: You’re giving off so much positive energy tonight, I had to come say over and say hi.

Wack opener: Hi, what’s your name?
MACK opener: I have totally seen you before. You’re on Facebook, aren’t you? I think we have a mutual friend. (There is a 99% chance she will say yes. Then I launch into one of my “Facebook” conversation routines, which I’ll give you in a moment.)

Openers are usually most effective if you provide a reason why you felt compelled to say something to her. This is also true with Compliment Openers; notice that in the examples below, you’re using the word “because” to link the opener to the reason.

Examples:

Compliment opener: “That color/dress/necklace looks good on you. I’d love to know where you bought it because I need to pick up a birthday gift for my friend Jen. She’d love something like that.” (If you’re into “alternative” chicks, notice one of her tattoos.)

Opinion opener #1 (to a group): “You girls look like experts…let me ask you a quick question before I get back to my friends. How long do you need to be dating a guy before you change the status on your Facebook page from ‘single’ to ‘in a relationship?’ Because my friend Jen has been with a guy for about a month, and his Facebook page still says ‘single’…and she’s not sure whether it’s lame to say something about it.”

Opinion opener #2: “Let me ask you something real quick. My best friend’s girlfriend tried to kiss me last night at a party and it was totally awkward. She was kind of drunk…he’s supposed to meet me here tonight and I don’t know whether to say anything to him…would you?”

Opinion opener #3: “I have to say, you know how to dress. Let me ask you—my friend John asked me to go shopping with him tomorrow because he wants me to help him do a ‘fashion makeover.’ He was married for a long time and now he’s single again and wants to get back out there on the dating scene, but he still dresses like it’s 1995. So if you were going to take one of your guy friends shopping for a new wardrobe, where would you bring them?”

Notice that in these openers, I’m referring to my friends—John, Jen, etc. It doesn’t matter whether they exist! You can make this stuff up. I’m communicating value by letting the girl know that I am part of a social circle. I buy birthday gifts for my friends…they come to me for help with their “fashion makeovers”…this is a way for you to communicate your social value even when your friends aren’t with you!

Here’s one funny pick up line I do recommend, because it’s clever and it demonstrates confidence. You walk up to a hot girl and you say to her,

“I lost a bet with my friends and now I have to ask out the hottest girl in the bar. So who do you think is the hottest girl here?”

Though I normally avoid using funny pick up lines, this is one works because it catches her off guard and jabs her ego a bit. When she hears the first part of the opener (you came over because you want to ask out the hottest girl in the bar), naturally she’s going to assume that you’re trying to ask her out. But then you throw a curveball and ask for her recommendation on who the hottest girl in the bar is.

In any case, whether you’re using funny pick up lines or one of the openers I teach in my book Mack Tactics, the key is knowing how to transition into a strong conversational topic. Don’t worry too much about “what to say first.” It’s what you say NEXT, and how you guide the conversation from that point, that separates the successful pickup artists from the dudes who strike out and go home alone.
